Heavily censored at its 1853 premiere, Verdi’s impassioned portrait of a celebrated courtesan in the last months of her life remains one of the most powerful stories of nineteenth century Paris, decadence, disease and selfless love.

For Opera Holland Park's 2025 vibrant third revival of its 2018 production of Verdi's La traviata, I was contracted to reupholster key pieces of antique furniture - a chaise longue, armchair and eight dining chairs.
